Clouds

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Clouds are often associated with the difficult times we encounter in our life, but in the Bible, they are connected with God. What we so often fail to realize is that they are connected. Those difficult clouds that show up in our life are orchestrated by God to teach us to walk by faith. But they are not always there to “teach” us something. More often than not they are they for another reason.

God uses trials in our life because He wants us to “unlearn” something. To unlearn those things that are keeping our relationship with Him from becoming like that of a little child:

Mark 10:14 … But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. ESV

We need to constantly ask ourselves: Is the relationship between myself and God getting simpler? What is in that cloud that is not God? What is it that He wants me to “unlearn?” What is in that cloud that God wants to use to “make” me something in His Kingdom?

Our part is to make sure that there is nothing between Jesus and ourselves. If there is, we have to get through it, but not by ignoring it; by facing it and getting into His presence. We have to maintain our relationship with Him as a child and there are those times when He needs to put us in a cloud to get our attention and remind us of that fact.

It seems to me that we should be trying to be the most “like” Enoch and Elijah in our lives, so as to be as favorable in God’s eyes as not only to walk with God but to be so connected with God as to go to Heaven with God without Death.

Larry – I have always viewed the rapture of the church with great expectation, but I have learned over the years that we are favorable in God’s eyes because of Jesus and with that comes the responsibility to follow God’s plan for our life here on earth… and God’s plan is for us to “know” Him. He has given us His Spirit to help us accomplish that plan as Paul shared in Romans … Rom 8:29 … be conformed into the image of Jesus. That’s what he means by working out the salvation we have been given … working out what God has already worked in … blessings.
