The Supreme Revelation

Over the years I have pondered who the writer of the Epistle to the Hebrews was. I came to the conclusion that it was Paul, but not long ago I was corrected. The instrument used remains unknown but the writer was God. His purpose was to show the many Jewish believers that were turning back to Judaism, in the face of persecution, that there was a better way, which He “revealed” in His Son.

Heb 1:1-3 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; 3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; KJV

Here are some notes I wrote in my Bible about The Better Way God revealed:

Heir of all things (the inheritor) Eph 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will KJV

He made the worlds (the creator) John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. KJV

The brightness of His glory (the radiator) Isa 60:3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. KJV

The express image of His person (the representer) John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? KJV

Upholding all things (the sustainer) Col 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. KJV

Purged our sins (the purifier) Heb 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? KJV

The right hand (the ruler) Rom 8:34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. KJV

A great reminder to the bride of Christ as the world around her becomes more unstable every day!
