This morning as I struggled to get my mind focused on the new week and all that I had to get done I found myself struggling to keep focused during my time in the Word. Actually I became very frustrated and the more I fought it the worse it got. That’s when I asked the Holy Spirit to help me clear my mind. What happened after that is what I want to share with you this morning.

So, ladies, you can just tag along this morning because this message is for us guys. Here is what I heard in my spirit as I tried to get rid of all those concerns, worries, anxieties, and fleeting “fleshly” thoughts.

When you come into our garden every morning you need to come as My bride and not as My friend. And the reason you have trouble doing that is because you don’t understand what it means to be a bride. So let me share a little secret with you that your wife already knows. When you sat down on our bench this morning and I put my arm around you and leaned your head on my shoulder what was your first thought? You got uncomfortable didn’t you. Men don’t do that, do they. That’s just a sign that you don’t fully understand what it means to be My bride.   

You don’t have a problem giving one of your brothers a hug do you? That’s because you are face-to-face and on equal terms. But if you were sitting in church and one of them sat down next to you and put his arm around you and leaned your head on his shoulder you’d be very uncomfortable. What would people think?

Let me tell you what I think.

When you come before me, face-to-face with your arms raised in worship I feel your reverence. When you fall on your knees before Me I feel your obedience. But when you lay your head on my shoulder I feel your submission, and when you submit to Me then I get my greatest joy… you let me love you.

You are my precious bride and when you come into our garden and sit with Me on our bench made for two, those are precious times to Me. Have you ever noticed that it’s at those times that you are usually at a loss for words? That’s the way it’s supposed to be. Haven’t you ever had your wife just ask you to hold her and not say anything? That’s what I want you to do. Just come to me and ask Me to hold you. There is no greater joy for me than to be able to just pour out my love on you. That’s why I went to the Cross and your head on my shoulder is My greatest reward.

In a nutshell that’s what it means to be My bride. And the best part for Me is that I am waiting for you here in our garden any time you want to take a break and just sit with me. We don’t have to talk. We can if you want, but your just being here to let Me love on you is enough. After all, it’s during those special times that I am doing some things in your heart that you aren’t even aware of. And trust Me, one day you’ll find out what they are and all our special times will become even more special.  If you truly want to be My bride and enjoy all the blessings of what that entails… come to our garden and let Me love on you for awhile. I guarantee it will make your day better. I know it makes Mine.

Well, I plan on spending more time just sitting than talking from now on. After all, I am His bride and it’s okay to ask Him to just hold me for awhile.
