The challenge the Lord set before us for His work in Uganda was straightforward …

Matt 28:19-20 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. ESV

And a key goal of that process is the verse He gave me for Walk With God Ministries a long time ago, which I know you have seen woven into our message many times …

Rom 8:29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. ESV

And Paul made it clear how that was to be accomplished …

Phil 2:12b-13 … work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. ESV

When one believes in Jesus and accepts His gift of redemption they are standing at the starting place … the foot of the cross. But far too many get left there because too often the message they received was focused on being “born again” and there was no follow up. As a result they fail to achieve the standard of redemption, which is the manifestation of the life of Christ in their daily lives.

Our challenge in Uganda is to encourage new and old believers who have never taken the “next step” to begin working out what they have been given … The Life of Christ. Our focus is on helping our 40 village pastors grow closer to Jesus by living His Life under the leading of the Holy Spirit … one day at at time …  one challenge at a time, with the goal of helping them in discipling their leaders and their flocks.

The gift of God is eternal life, and that life in every believer comes with the challenge to know Him …

John 17:3 And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. ESV
